La Solana (Ciudad Real) has recognized the daily effort of an entire sector, the agri-food sector, and all those who are part of it, from the first of its links, the field workers. Men and women, cooperatives, companies, which make it possible today to be the engine of wealth generation in Castilla-La Mancha, with 17.9 percent of Castilian-La Mancha GDP.
The Minister of Agriculture, Water and Rural Development, Francisco Martínez Arroyo, referred to this in his speech during the 'Campo y Alma' Grand Selection Awards gala.
The Campo y Alma Gran Selección for the best Saffron from La Mancha has gone to the La Rosera brand, produced by Bealar, S.L., a company located in Motilla del Palancar (Cuenca).
Martínez Arroyo has referred to the fact that this is the “Castilla-La Mancha food Oscars gala”, some awards, which are 33 years old, being the oldest in the Community and that, for the first time in this edition, they include the region's food guarantee mark, 'Campo y Alma', which brings together foods with designation of origin and protected geographical indication. And it is that “it is what best represents us” and behind which is a way of understanding life such as the Mediterranean Diet, “which is made up of the products that you make and make possible every day”.
